Central band with patola ratu motif, three bands with animal motifs: horses, cocks and snakes. Widest ikat bands shows unusually large skull trees, andung, each festooned with twenty heads. Absence of kabakil border indicates that it was not meant to be used for attire, but for ceremonial use only. | | Size: | 132 x 240 cm (51.9 x 94.4 in) | | Weight: | 655 g (207 g/m2) | | Yarn: | Cotton, hand-spun, fine, double-ply | | Comment: | An old hinggi with powerful design, rich, saturated tones, and fine weaving in double ply wheel spun cotton.
