Timor, East Timor, 1935-1950
Ikat areas done in fine hand-spun cotton. Odd mixture of double, triple and quadruple ply. Central panel in coarser hand-spun. The fibres look old, with many split filaments. Age given may be too conservative.





Note that detail images will nearly always show some colour deviation from the overall image as a result of the use of lenses with different optical qualities. While efforts have been made to digitally match the colours of overall images and details, in some cases a residual divergence is inevitable.
