Design: Banded structure with the widest ikated bands close to the extremities. The central motif in nearby Lautem in Timor Leste is called keu and is associated with high caste. The motif has a fairly wide distribution in the South Moluccas. The other motifs belong to the same regional vernacular.
Comment: While Leti began adopting chemical red dyes very early in the 20th century, or perhaps in the late 19th century, this specimen was dyed in natural dyes only.
